History of Block Panchayat
Adimali Block Panchayat is a prominent hillside region located in the Devikulam taluk of Idukki district. Once known as 'Mannamkandam', the earliest inhabitants of this region were indigenous tribes such as the Mannan and Muthuvan. During the 1940s and 1950s, the arrival of migrant farmers from various regions transformed this forested land into a prosperous agricultural zone. The development of the Kochi–Madurai National Highway further turned Adimali into a major commercial and administrative center in the High Ranges. Formed as part of the Panchayat Raj system, the Adimali Block Panchayat comprises five grama panchayats: Adimali, Pallivasal, Bison Valley, Vellathooval, and Konnathady.
